Online Application Process

The online application forms can be filled out in a few simple steps given below: 

• As a new user, you have to first register yourself to generate an application ID and password. 
• You have to now log in to your account using the application ID and password. 
• Start filling out the application form properly. 
• Once you have fully filled out the form, double-check all the information and submit it. 
• Complete the payment process. 
• Now, move to the home page select the course and college you are interested in and submit the form. 
• Lastly, print out the form, fee receipt, and course & college preferences. 

Offline Application Process

Candidates who are willing to complete the application process offline are required to follow the given steps:

• To generate an application ID, candidates will have to register themselves first. 
• Now, log into the account using your ID and passcode. 
• Arrange the application form from the university website. 
• Fill in all the information and upload necessary details like academic records, ID proof, photos, etc. 
• Go to the university campus and submit a form. 
• Complete the procedure after the application fee payment offline.

Some of the PG-level programmes at Patna University are MA, M.Sc., MBA, etc. The basic eligibility criteria to enrol in these master’s degree programmes is to have a UG degree in the relevant field with a minimum. marks.

Bachelor’s of Education (B.Ed)

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)  is a UG-level program promoted by Patna University. All interested candidates wanting to pursue the Bachelor of Education must have completed their UG programme with at least 50% marks to be eligible to apply for this course.

The B.Ed. The programme is a basic requirement to become a professional teacher or educator. 

Bachelor’s of Law (LLB)

The Bachelor of Laws (LLB) programme is a UG course provided by Patna University. The course duration is usually 3 years and 5 years for Integrated programs like BA LLB and BBA LLB. Bachelors of Library Science (B.Lib.Sc)

Patna University PG Admission 2026 last date to submit the filled application form is 15 July 2026 (tentative).  At Patna University, many master’s courses like LLM, MBA, M.Lib.Sc., etc. are offered in various specializations. 

In order to be admitted to these programmes, the minimum requirement is to hold a bachelor’s degree in the respective field.  In many PG programmes, admission is granted by taking previous academic performance into consideration and the entrance exam.

At Patna University, the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme is offered in various fields, and the programme is promoted under the faculty of law, humanities, science, education, commerce, and social science. Candidates will get 6 years to complete their PhD degree. 

Eligibility Criteria 

• Interested candidates must have completed their postgraduate degree with a minimum of 55% marks scored. 
• Candidates must hold postgraduation in the relevant field with all the mandatory subjects. 

Selection Criteria 

• The selection of the candidates under the PhD programme will be based on their performance in the PAT entrance exam conducted by Patna University.

Entrance Exam for UG Programmes 

• Admissions in several Bachelor’s courses like B.Sc., BB.A, BA, etc. take place on the basis of the Patna University common entrance test (PUCET). 
• For LLB and B.Ed courses, BLET and BEET exams are conducted. Candidates have to score valid marks in the exam to qualify for the cutoff set by the university.
