IPU Admission Process 2026-27

Online Application Process 

• All the applicants must go to the IPU website. The link is @https://ipu.admissions.nic.in/
• Click on “IPU Registration 2026” and complete the new candidate registration. 
• Note down your ID and password. 
• Once you get your login info, get started with the application process. 
• Fill in every important detail with utter concentration. 
• Submit the mandatory documents like academic records, important certificate photos, etc. 
• Carefully double-check all the provided information.
• End the application process by checking the declaration box.
• Submit the prescribed application amount via the online method. 
• Keep a printout of your application form. 

Offline Application Process

Candidates who want to fill out forms offline mode can refer to the steps given below- 

• Go to the University website (Check Above to find the link).
• Complete the new candidate registration process. 
• Manage the form from the website. 
• Fill out each and every detail carefully and print out the form. 
• Now tag all the mandatory documents with the application form. 
• Visit the affiliated institute in which they wish to take admission and inquire about the offline form submission process. 
• Once you have submitted the form, complete the payment via offline mode.

Entrance Exam 

• IPU conducts a common entrance exam named GGSIPU CET to fill seats under various programmes like B.Sc., BA, M.Sc., MA, and many more.
• The university also accepts scores of many national-level tests like NEET, NEET PG, GATE, JEE Main, CUET, NIMCET, and NATA to select candidates for many UG and PG-level courses. 

Application Fee

The registration fee to apply for any programme at IPU is Rs 1,500. Later, candidates who are called for a counselling session will have to pay Rs 1,000/- as a counselling fee.

The admission process at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University usually starts in March and April every year. Many bachelor’s degree programmes like B.Arch, B.Des, BDS, etc. are promoted at IPU in various fields, including architecture, design, medicine, and many more.

In order to be admitted to UG-level courses, candidates must have at least passed the 12th standard in the required field. 

Master’s degree programmes like MCA, MPT, and M.Tech are encouraged in various specializations at IPU. In order to satisfy the eligibility criteria, candidates must possess a UG degree in the relevant field. 

IPU also conducts a common entrance test to choose deserving candidates, and for many courses, valid scores of national-level tests are considered. The average package of IPU stands somewhere between Rs 6 LPA and Rs 7 LPA.

IPU UG Admission 2026-27

Indraprastha University (IPU) offers various undergraduate programs like BCom, BA, BSc, BPharm, BBA, BCA, BTech, and many more. Candidates who have completed the registration and application process can now proceed further with the admission process. 

Many UG-level courses are offered by IPU through their affiliated colleges. The basic criteria needed to be able to apply for such a programme is to have passed the intermediate studies in the required stream with minimum qualifying marks. 

The admission criteria set by IPU is to appear either for a common entrance test or take admission through national-level test scores. Candidates can choose any path of admission depending on their interests and convenience. 

In 2023 placements, 190 students got placed with a median package of INR 8.15 LPA from the Bachelor of Technology (B.tech) Batch.

The university offers undergraduate courses with fees ranging from Rs 80,000/- to Rs 4.2 Lakhs. The university also holds a placement record with the highest CTC of Rs 45 LPA approx. 

Bachelor’s of Education (B.Ed.)

A bachelor’s of education is a two-year programme offered by Indraprastha University. You have to appear for a common entrance test and qualify to enrol in the course.

The course is pursued by all the aspirants wanting to make a career in the teaching profession. A B.Ed. degree will open a lot of career options for teachers, education consultants, lecturers, and many more. The fee for the programmes ranges approximately between Rs 62,000 and Rs 1,23,400.

Bachelor’s of Architecture (B.Arch)

Bachelor of Architecture is a 5-year-long UG programme offered by Indraprastha University. The university has limited seats for the course. Candidates interested in architecture can pursue the course.

A B.Arch graduate can become an architect, interior designer, urban planner, graphic designer, and much more. The tuition fee for the programme is approximately Rs 1,30,400 per year.

Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech)

B.tech is a four-year-long UG programme offered by Indraprastha University. There are several specializations available, including computer science, electronics and communications, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, and information technology.

Bachelor’s of Business Administration (BBA)

The bachelor’s in business administration is a three-year UG programme offered by Indraprastha University. Students are taught all the skills required in the field of business. A BBA graduate can make a career in the fields of sales, digital marketing, business administration, human resources management, and many more. The BBA fee structure varies approximately from Rs 63,500 to Rs 79,400.

IPU PG Admission 2026

A wide range of PG-level courses are available at IP University, like MCA, MBA, MPT, Mtech, etc. These programmes are encouraged by IPU in many specializations. 

The basic eligibility criteria needed to be eligible for these courses is to have completed a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field with the minimum required marks.

This course of common entrance tests and national-level exams will be considered to grant admission under all the available PG programmes. 

The median package from the masters of business administration batch (MBA) recorded 6.18 LPA in the recruitment drive of 2023. Given below is a table of all the PG-level courses offered by IPU.

Master’s of Technology (M.Tech)

M.Tech is a two-year PG programme offered by Indraprastha University. Some of the specializations in which an individual can pursue the M.Tech program are computer science, electronics and communications, instrumentation and control, information technology, and many more.

The fee of the course is approximately Rs 1,32,000/- per year. 

Master’s of Business Administration (MBA)

A master’s in business administration is a two-year PG programme offered by Indraprastha University. Anyone can pursue an MBA programme irrespective of their subjects in the bachelor’s program.

IPU offers different specializations in the MBA programme, including IB, financial analysis, HR, marketing, and many more. After completing an MBA, a candidate can explore career options in the fields of marketing, consulting, investment banking, entrepreneurship, product management, and many more.

The academic fee for the MBA programme is approximately Rs 1,23,500/-. 

Master’s of Education (M.Ed.) 

At IPU, M.Ed. and M.Ed. in special education are promoted. It is a master’s programme that can be pursued after completing a B.Ed. course.

After completing the master’s of education programme, candidates can go into the educational research field. Many other career opportunities include teaching, lecturing, educating, etc. 

Master’s of Arts (MA) 

Some of the specializations offered by IPU in the MA programme are economics, English, mass communication, and others.

Candidates after completing an MA course can look for jobs that match their skill set and knowledge regarding the industry. Another possible option available after an MA is to go for research studies.

IPU PhD Admission 2026-27

At IPU, the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme is encouraged in different disciplines, including computer applications, mathematics, chemistry, English, physics, IT, law, chemical technology, biotechnology, and many more. 

Eligibility criteria 

• Interested candidates must have completed the UG and PG degrees. Candidates must have acquired a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in their postgraduate programme. 
• M.Phil. degree holders with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks are also eligible for the programme. 
• Candidates holding a 4-year bachelor’s degree programme are also eligible to apply for a PhD programme at IPU. They must have scored a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in their four-year UG degree programme. 

Selection criteria

• The selection of candidates will be based on the PhD entrance test (PET) conducted by the university. 
• Candidates with UGC NET/UGC CSIR NET/CEED/GATE qualifications will not have to attempt the entrance exam. 
• Later on, an interview will be organized to present the research proposal in front of the PhD admissions committee. 

IPU Entrance Exam 2026-27

For UG Programmes 

The admissions process is an important round to select qualified students under the most suitable course. For programmes like B.Arch and B.Tech, the university fills seats based on the performance in exams like NATA and JEE Main. For MBBS, BDS, BPT, and other similar courses, NEET UG scores are taken into consideration for admission. 

Admissions under the remaining programmes like BA, B.Pharm., B.Com., B.Sc., etc. are provided either based on the CUET exam or the common entrance test (CET) conducted by the IPU. 

For PG Programmes

For PG-level courses like M.Tech, MCA, LLM, MPT, and MBA, the marks of exams like GATE, NIMCET, CLAT PG, NEET-PG, and CAT/CMAT are accepted, respectively.

Candidates can also take admission through a common entrance test depending upon their choice and convenience.

The deadline to fill out the application forms has been surpassed now at IPU. Currently, the counselling and seat allotment process is ongoing.

Candidates must go to the university website and check how many seats under their desired courses are filled. In case seats are not full, they can send an inquiry mail or connect with the admissions team of IPU.
